Al in 2012 werd Peter Jakob Kühn de hemel ingeschreven door de Gault & Millau en in 2016 werd hij verkozen tot ‘Winzer des Jahres 2016’, wijnproducent van het jaar.

 Ruim 230 jaar (sinds 1786) is de familie Kühn al betrokken in de wijnbouw in Rheingau. Peter Jakob is de 11e generatie, en dochter Sandra is sinds 2005 bij het bedrijf gekomen. De kennis over het imponerende terroir bestaande uit fyllietleisteen en Taunuskwartsiet (bij deze vast twee leuke voor de eerstvolgende Scrabble ronde), is dan ook van generatie op generatie doorgegeven en verder bestudeerd. De familie werkt dan ook met enorm respect voor natuur, terroir en traditie. Sinds 2004 cultiveert Peter zijn wijnstokken en wijngaarden volgens de principes van de biodynamische landbouw. Indien mogelijk ondergaan alle cuvée’s spontane malolactische gisting. Ongemanipuleerde, levendige wijnen die hun oorsprong en hun eigen identiteit weerspiegelen

Doosberg, Lenchen en Klosterberg zijn de wijngaarden waar deze wijn uit is samengesteld. Door de selectie van de 3 toppercelen ontstaat een krachtige gebalanceerde riesling. Bovendien vallen álle gaarden van Kühn onder het het VDP, Der Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter, de oudste nationale vereniging van topwijndomeinen wereldwijd.
