Read3 literacy intervention program | Module 2 | STEP 3 | ParentIn Module 2 Step 3 your child will learn to recognise common word endings (morphemes) like s es, ed, ing and er. They will be introduced to one simple strategy to assist them when reading and spelling words containing these endings. They will then build text

In Module 2 Step 3 your child will learn to recognise common word endings (morphemes) like s/es, ed, ing and er. They will be introduced to one simple strategy to assist them when reading and spelling words containing these endings. Each session they will work on their phonemic awareness skills (HEAR activities), phonic decoding skills (SEE activities) and start to build automaticity (AUTO) when writing and spelling words. They will then build text-level fluency of spelling patterns learned with targeted decodable 60 Word Stories.

Please note, there are no consonant blends in any words used in this step to ensure children with processing difficulties can start to build an understanding of morphology without 'overloading' on consonants.

The pace of learning is different for each child, but it is anticipated Step 3 will take at least 5 weeks to master.  For reading outcomes, a minimum of 5 sessions per week (20 minutes per session) is recommended. Children should then apply this learning for an additional 10 minutes a day, and a curated list of decodable readers, computer games and other resources is provided for each step.

What you get in Step 3

Module 2 Step 3 includes online access to:

  • 1 video for parents/carers that provides an overview of morphology
  • 6 word ending videos for children
  • 2 easy to follow session practice guides
  • over 120 pages of downloadable activities
  • a fun game board, featuring Easy Alphabet vowel characters
  • digital copies of CARD KIT contents
  • instructions and scripted lessons
  • downloadable activity sheets and resources
  • monitoring tools and record sheets

PLUS you also receive decodable stories from our 60 Word Stories Reading Fluency Program (valued at $48).

'Riding To Win' (6 stories) features all word endings covered in Step 3. These fully decodable 'chapter' stories can be read repeatedly with confidence as they only include spelling patterns taught so far in the Read3 program. Time your child's reading speed daily and chart to track your child's fluency progress.

What your child will learn in Step 3

In Step 3 your child will:

    • learn the difference between nouns and verbs
    • gain an understanding of the role of morphemes
    • listen for morphemes on the ends of words and learn to identify base words
    • recognise the different sounds the 'ed' word ending can make
    • explore plurals and when to add 's' or 'es' to words
    • master when to double the final consonant, or drop the 'silent e' before adding a word ending
    • discover how to change verbs to nouns by adding 'er'
    • start reading and spelling small words with word endings s/es, ed, ing and er.
    • start writing short sentences featuring word endings s/es, ed, ing and er
    • continue to review words, including high-frequency words, featuring all three syllable types learned previously

The Read3 Program works to strengthen the three foundational skills needed for reading and writing. Developed by experienced Speech Pathologist Robyn Monaghan, the strategies have proven effective when teaching children with multiple processing difficulties including: poor phonological awareness, poor working memory, poor letter-sound knowledge and poor rapid automatic naming.  Learn more about Read3

    Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
    Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

    A familiar story, just with…..less.
    Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

    Good start to a series
    Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

    A good read
    Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
    Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.
