It is lightweight, yet elegant with lovely curving lines that weave seamlessly around the nugget to keep it securely in place. 

Elite shungite (also called Type 1 or noble shungite) is the most powerful form of shungite, representing the top 1 percent of all shungite mined. It consists of 90-99 percent carbon and the highest concentration of fullerenes, special and very rare large molecular carbon structures.

You don't see much jewelry made from elite shungite due to its rarity AND fragility. I hand picked this elite shungite nugget and sent it off to master jewelry designer Jamie of Awakened Design Studio, who created its unique silver setting.

Just as no two elite nuggets are alike, no two pendants are alike because she follows each stone's individual contours, resulting in a beautifully unique and organic design. 

The wire used in the weave is argentium silver, a type of tarnish-resistant sterling that contains 93.5 to 96 percent silver. In argentium, the copper in standard sterling silver has been replaced with germanium.
