The Darkness plate has a slotted channel that allows you to adjust the position of the tie-down screw and your camera to rough in the balance, and you can slide the plate within your tripod head's platform to find the optimal balance for your camera rig. The included 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 stainless steel captive tie-down screws stay in the channel when no camera is attached, making it less likely they will get lost when moving from location to location.
