Der Abbau der Belgischen Brocken wurde das erste Mal 1625 schriftlich erwähnt. Aber schon Plinius (23-79 n.Ch. römischer Gelehrter) erwähnt besondere Schleifsteine aus den Ardennen in seinen Schriften. In dem ca. 480 Millionen alten Schiefer-Sedimentgestein aus vulkanischen Aschen und Tonen sind in Adern von 5-20 cm feinste Granate (5-20 Micron) eingelagert. Der blaue Belgische Brocken enthält ca. 30 % eingelagerte Granate und hat eine Körnung von 5000-6000 und ist sehr einfach in der Anwendung. Angewendet mit Wasser pflegt und schärft er die Schneidenspitzen von Messern und Werkzeugen ohne einen Grat zu hinterlassen. Naturstein ca. 150 x 40 x 14mm Bankstein Körnung: 5000-6000
