The biodegradable recycled paper deodorant tubes are handmade, so they are all a little different. These push up style tubes dont have the turn mechanism nor the ability to be retracted that the plastic tubes do, so they do take a little getting used to.

If the deodorant is cold, it will be difficult to push up. If you are having difficulty pushing up the product, try warming it with the heat of your hands.
Koaino recommends pushing up the outer edge of the bottom disc and once the product moves, then carefully pushing up from the centre.
Do not over apply.
