The Rat TIMP-1 (Tissue Inhibitors of Metalloproteinase 1) ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Rat TIMP-1. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Rat TIMP-1 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Rat TIMP-1, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Rat TIMP-1. You can calculate the concentration of Rat TIMP-1 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.

These bones are great for a few small, yet significant reasons. Bottom line up front: They're great and a dog owner would be well served to pick up one or two of these as a long term chew toy your dog is almost sure to love. 1) The first being the odd shape of the bones. The shape enables the dog to pick up the bones with ease rather than some of the more flat bones or chews which can lead to a struggle and frustration. The three prongs and the elevated middle portion alleviate this concern. 2) These bones aren't ground material shaped into a bone shape, they are tough, plastic-like substances. They have a very subtle aroma of the flavor they are supposed to be (bacon, chicken, etc) but are completely safe for the dogs to munch on. The best part of the bones being this substance is that they last quite a long time. 3) The bones are lightweight and won't hurt you if you stub your toe as you walk around the house barefoot. 4) Dogs seem to love them. Only the most picky or reclusive dogs will ignore these bones.
