Recommended Uses

Fennel seed is known to assist with digestive complaints, gastrointestinal spasms, flatulence, nausea and abdominal spasms. It is antispasmodic and may be beneficial in addressing menstrual cramps, fluid retention and bronchitis. Fennel seed is said to be a detoxing oil that may assist in reducing the look of cellulite. Emotionally, fennel seed is known to provide mental strength when worn down, encourages a forward energy when adapting to change, promotes feelings of courage and strength and helps with more straighforward communication.

Scent Profile

Fennel seed is a middle/top note. Its scent is licorice-like, peppery, sweet and slightly camphorous.

Blending

Blends well with bergamot, black pepper, cardamom, chamomile german and roman, cypress, geranium, ginger, grapefruit, juniper berry, lavandin, lavender, lemon, mandarin, orange, patchouli, sandalwood and ylang ylang.

Contraindications / Safety

Avoid use during pregnancy and avoid if you have epilepsy or other seizure disorders. May cause skin irritation and it is recommended to use in lower percentages in blends. Do not use on babies and it is not recommended on people younger than 16. Not to be used on those who have estrogen related cancer or people with kidney problems.
