This original Norman Young Company advertising wall clock is a fine example of mid-century commercial display design.
The clock features a colourful three-tone dial decorated with a stylised ocean liner above the prominent N.Y.Co. monogram and company name. Its design reflects the visual identity of the Norman Young Company, a well-known American shipping and travel organisation active in transatlantic passenger and freight transportation.
Constructed from aluminium and plastic, the clock incorporates Arabic numerals, a central seconds hand and a traditional railway-style minute track. The combination of strong graphic elements and functional industrial design makes it both an attractive decorative piece and an interesting transportation-related collectible.
