The Epiphone Prophecy Extura is a newly reimagined guitar that takes inspiration from iconic Gibson body shapes and adds a modern twist for players who want to break tradition and set new standards in speed, sound, and technique.
The Epiphone Extura Prophecy features a mahogany body with a AAA flame maple veneer top and takes inspiration from two of these iconic models: the Gibson Explorer and the Gibson Futura, combining the best of both worlds, with the Explorer's pointed body and the Futura's narrower waist and deeper cutaway. This unique blend of classic and modern design results in a guitar that is both visually exciting and incredibly playable.
The Extura also features a comfortable asymmetrical SlimTaper mahogany neck with a contoured heel for easy upper fret access. This neck profile is perfect for players who demand speed and comfort, and boasts an ebony fingerboard topped with 24 jumbo frets.
At the center of the Extura's sound are a pair of custom-voiced Fishman Fluence pickups. These versatile pickups deliver three distinct tonal options: a warm Gibson BurstBucker/PAF vintage humbucker, a hot modern humbucker, and a shimmering, optimized single-coil. These tones can be easily accessed via push/pull volume and tone controls, giving users a wide range of sonic possibilities.
In the hardware realm, Grover locking Rotomatic tuners occupy the headstock, and an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and LockTone StopBar tailpiece work in harmony to provide added sustain and stability.
This Extura features a multi-dimensional Aged Bengal Tiger Burst finish that highlights the natural beauty of the flamed maple top, with streaks of amber, gold, and brown that appear to move and change depending on the light.
