If you have a vehicle or truck shell with either Thule or Yakima mounting track on it, and would like to add a K9 roof rack system to it, this is the system for you.  Eezi-Awn has developed a new series of track mount feet that are compatible with most track systems on the market. These feet attach directly to the bottom of any of the K9 roof rack platforms, so you have plenty of size options.

The base of each track mount foot has two 8mm slotted holes in them for attaching to a track.  Thule and Yakima utilize 6mm threaded plates in their track. So Eezi-Awn supplies 6mm stainless button head cap screws with unique insulating spacers to correctly fill that void between screw and slot.  What you end up with is one of the most robust rack solutions you can create for your Thule and Yakima track.

Capacity

Capacity of the K9 roof rack system is broken into two measurements, static weight and dynamic weight.  Static is when the vehicle is stationary. Dynamic is when the vehicle is in motion. We have not tested the K9 racks on vehicles to the point of roof failure.  We can tell you what we have tested ourselves effectively. A dynamic capacity in the range of 500 pounds is possible. A static capacity of 1000 pounds is possible.  An example of static load increase would be adding people in the tent on the roof. Please understand these capacities are on vehicles that have modified suspensions designed to manage this amount of weight.  They are not a warrantied or guaranteed capacity. Your load capacity will vary.

Installation

Installation of this rack system can be done by one person in approximately 1hour.  Help lifting the platform on the roof would be appreciated. You start by installing the K9 Track Mount Feet in your Thule or Yakima track, followed by attaching the platform on top of the feet.  Tighten it all in place, and you are good to go. Mounting plates for either track are not included. Written instructions are also provided with each rack system.

System Components

The K9 Tacoma Spine Roof Rack System consists of a fully welded K9 platform, and the new Spine Mounting System, complete with all hardware.

System Accessories

The Eezi-Awn K9 Roof Rack System comes with a complete array of bolt on accessories.  Jerry Can holders, Axe mounts, Shovel mounts, Hi-Lift Mounts, Max Trax Mounts, Awning Mounts, Under Rack Table mounts, and much more.  Take a look at the accessories page to see all our options.

Thule & Yakima Compatible

The K9 Roof Rack is also the only overlanding rack on the market that is easily compatible with your existing Thule or Yakima sports bar mounts for bikes, kayaks, etc. With store-accessible 6mm hardware that attaches to the K9's perimeter, your hobbies won't become obsolete with your "old gear."

Great Value for a ball my dog loves!
Color: S6-muti-color
I wish these ball were in the subscription program! My dog gets sooo excited by the new ball, but her interest in things lasts for a few days. She kills the squeak within 11minutes, but the squeaker stays in place rather than becoming a chocking or swallow hazard, and she still loves to chew it. Next, we must throw the ball approximately 723 times the first day, possibly 496 times on day 2, and just 3- 4 on day 3, at which point she will chase the ball before hollering "it's over here if you need it," while she checks on the chipmunk den. We currently have 17 of these balls in our yard (because we have given several leftovers to a less discriminating doodle next door). These balls hold up really well, get her extremely active for the first couple of days, and are a much cheaper than doggie daycare (after an active morning with a new ball, she is happy to chew on it and sleep much of the day). I always have these on hand!

Pieces chewed off
Color: white & green
My Aussiedoodle loves it. I throw it down the hallway, it bounces crazy, and he chases it. The only complaint is that he can't chew much of the ball part. So now I have to have it put away and brought out for special playtime.

Aggressive chewers have met their match.
Size: 10.5 inch Rubber Flex Tread
We purchased this toy in 2022, it finally broke last night. Four years of rough play with 2 boxers who are aggressive chewers. They would tug together, gnaw on it for hours, and often leave it outside exposed to the elements, but this toy just kept going. It was by far their favorite toy, it kept them busy for hours. I just ordered a replacement. Well worth the money, perfect size. Highly recommend.

Durable, fun, and safe for my dog
Size: 10.5 inch Rubber Flex Tread
I have a 10 month old, 50 lb mutt who has the musculature of a pit bull and the muzzle of a GSD. Buttercup’s favorite past-time is shredding toys into teeny tiny bits, but sometimes those bits don’t come back out of her mouth. She can’t have tennis balls, stuffies, anything with a squeaker, silicone toys, plastic toys, rubber toys with spikes or small appendages, anything with rope, or most chews & bones. She chewed her first and only $8+ XL bully stick like a corn chip. Finding indoor enrichment is a challenge. Buttercup is extremely pleased with this tire tug thingy, it is very ergonomic for both her and me to get a handle on it, it has more movement than any other toy she can safely have, and it’s very durable. After more than a week, there’s only a little bit of tread missing, which is definitely the best-case outcome with a super chewer. I think this is a good alternative to GoNut toys because it’s solid & dense while also a little bit easier & more interesting to play with, and very unlike GoNuts, this Tonka toy is very reasonably priced. I also think this it’s a good size for almost any breed of dog—I could definitely picture a little Boston or Frenchie dangling from one end. Highly recommended!

Dog loves it
Size: 10.5 inch Rubber Flex Tread
I would buy this again and again. It’s extremely durable and has held up great with my 9 month old Saint Bernard puppy. We even call it his “pacifier” because every night he grabs it and chews on it until he falls asleep. Definitely a favorite in our house!
