Lampshade Making Workshop - 8th October 2026, 7pm at Gail'sCome and learn how to make your own lampshade with local artist and maker Natalie Laura Ellen. During this relaxed 2 hour workshop, Natalie will teach you everything you need to create your own professional 30cm drum lampshade. On the day you can choose whether youd like to make a shade with a lamp or pendant fitting and pick your fabric from a selection of nature inspired printed fabrics, all designed by Natalie herself! Come and learn how to make your own lampshade with local artist and maker Natalie Laura Ellen.
During this relaxed 2 hour workshop, Natalie will teach you everything you need to create your own professional 30cm drum lampshade. On the day you can choose whether you’d like to make a shade with a lamp or pendant fitting and pick your fabric from a selection of nature inspired printed fabrics, all designed by Natalie herself!
Workshop numbers are limited to 10 people, which will ensure lots of one-to-one teaching time per person and a lovely group atmosphere. Your ticket includes a hot drink and sweet treat from Gail's.
PLEASE NOTE: this event will take place at Gail's, 16 School Road, Sale M33 7XP.
Ticket includes:
· All materials required to make a 30cm lampshade – you’ll make your own lampshade on the course and take it home with you!
· Fabric for your project (if you have something specific in mind to match your decor just get in touch)
· Use of Natalie's tools
· Tips and tricks from Natalie's many years experience making drum lampshades
· A barista made drink and sweet treat from Gail's
More about Natalie:
Natalie has worked in the textiles industry for well over a decade. After studying textiles and pattern design at York St. John University, she worked as an in-house designer for a digital textile manufacturer in Manchester, which saw her work with a wide range of clients from large high street brands to small designer-makers. This experience was invaluable, helping Natalie to develop her creative confidence and giving her a strong understanding of commercial design. After beavering away on her own collections in her spare time, she decided to take the leap and go solo in 2017, creating her own brand: Natalie Laura Ellen.
Natalie says: "I’ve been making lampshades using my fabric designs for a good few years now and always find them so satisfying to create. My lampshades are available to purchase in a selection of shops around the UK and via my website: www.natalielauraellen.com"
