Enhance your fence line or a post with a classic bird shelter when you place this Coveside Eastern Bluebird House with Large Roof on it. These birds readily use man made nest boxes, helping them locate suitable roosting spots, and this option is specifically crafted to keep the interior dry for your feathered friends. A significant, pine roof attaches to the top of this classic nest box with the included screws, and its overhanging sides direct water away from the center chamber easily. The roof also slopes downward and has an extended front edge, keeping rain out of the 1.5" diameter entry hole. A wooden block around this entry keeps squirrels and raccoons from reaching the nest, and a ladder inside the front panel helps nestlings exit when ready. Slots below the roof overhang aid in ventilation and temperature regulation, while corner gaps on the base allow any captured water to drain. One side panel lifts for occasional nest checks, and latches closed for avian safety. Its flat back with attached hanger encourages mounting against a wall or post, or a mounting adapter (not included) can be affixed to the base for pole mounting. The natural tone of the 0.75" thick pine boards will age to a striking silver over time, and the fantastic features ensure comfort for your backyard birds. LOVE the hedgehog! Very tough! My dachshund has not been able to chew off any of the 'nubs', and does she try! lol The only thing is, the first thing she did was chew off the nose, but I discarded it and watched her closely to make sure she didn't chew off any more, and no, its still being chewed on.
