Twisted Dodecahedron Flat & FormedThe Twisted Dodecahedron is constructed of 12 decagons. This one is the one that reminds me most of spider webs or the crossing floor security beams shown in heist movies. The Slide Together Polyhedra series were made by combining the instructions of geometers, Adam Williamson and George Heart. They are drawn with compass and straight edge and decorated with white ink laid out with vintage ruling compasses and ruling pens. The edges are gilt in 24k
The Twisted Dodecahedron is constructed of 12 decagons. This one is the one that reminds me most of spider webs or the crossing floor security beams shown in heist movies.
The Slide Together Polyhedra series were made by combining the instructions of geometers, Adam Williamson and George Heart. They are drawn with compass and straight edge and decorated with white ink laid out with vintage ruling compasses and ruling pens. The edges are gilt in 24k gold leaf.
Each polyhedra comes with its own unframed 16"x9" 2D tiling view equivalent also drawing with compass and straight edge but instead decorated with black ink laid out with vintage ruling compasses and ruling pens. To make the polyhedra, I first had to create a drawing just like this and cut it out to create the faces along the less visible pencil lines. In the last photo, they are in the lower left bay.
Hand made product: please allow for evidences of the artistic process and allow for the possibility of the black paper fading over time if exposed to sunlight though they did hang in a window for a few months for an art show and did well.
Stemware not included.
