Continuing in their innovative series of musicmaking devices, we're met with the vivacious, tropical tones of the Teenage Engineering EP-40 Riddim. Part of TE's dynamic EP sampler series, the EP-40 Riddim delivers on a powerful and expressive sampling, sequencing, and songwriting experience alongside a robust reggae-inspired musical palette.

The EP-40 Riddim comes together with classic Teenage Engineering design packed to the brim with exciting, musical functions. At the core of the EP-40 is a powerful sampler and sequencer. This expansive sampling and sequencing engine puts players in the driver's seat with grid-oriented sequencing that quickly gets things going. The EP-40 makes for quick inspiration with an incredibly streamlined workflow and its high-fidelity sampling frequency.

As you work through the Riddim's seamless sampling and sequencing experience, you get into more of TE's extended synthesizing functions. Onboard, the EP-40 features a subtractive synth engine accessible through the sampler's pressure sensitive keys and multifunctional fader. Playability is a priority with the EP-40 as it leans into its reggae influences through hundreds of onboard reggae, dub, and dancehall instruments, sound effects, and samples. These features are built upon with the compatible EP-2350 Ting microphone's (not included as a bundle) four live voice effects (Echo, Echo and Spring, Pixie, and Robot) and onboard sample slots which can be triggered on-the-fly.

Functionally, we get classic Teenage Engineering connectivity and storage. One hundred and twenty-eight megabytes of system memory line up with nine onboard editable projects. The EP-40 Riddim features stereo in and out connections for extensive routing options while onboard MIDI implementation and USB-C open it up for external control and integration with existing setups. With all the EP-40's sampling superpowers, it's very much a candidate for your primary sampling engine.

Working to quickly get across thrilling musical ideas, the Teenage Engineering EP-40 Riddim is an extensively outfitted device to get the blood pumping.

Not a new personality type -- one of the 16 Myers Briggs types
Format: Kindle
The author claims to have identified a personality type that differs from the 16 types identified in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Among those 16 MBTI types, 8 are extraverts and 8 are introverts. The author refers to those 8 introvert types as a single personality category, and then he tries to differentiate them from the type he proposes: the Otrovert. However, his description of the Otrovert is a detailed, accurate description of one of the 8 Myers Briggs introvert types: the INTJ. So he has not identified a new personality type; he has simply isolated one of the 16 MBTI types and elaborated on it. He does an excellent job of explaining the nuances of the INTJ personality, but he has not identified something new. I would have rated this book 5 stars if it had been presented as a closer look at the INTJ type. The book "Type Talk" by Kroeger and Theusen is the preeminent authority on the MBTI, written by people who qualify instructors to administer the MBTI instrument--find it on Amazon at this link: https://www.amazon.com/Type-Talk-Personality-Types-Determine/dp/0440507049/ref=sr_1_1?

the book for me
Format: Kindle
This has been the best book I’ve read in 2026. I finally understand who I am. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wondered what’s wrong with me. Turns out …. Nothing! I have struggled with the constant message of “you need community” and the internal desire that cringes at the thought of it. Isolation is bad but select community is perfect. No more shame for needing alone time or just wanting to stay home. I’m normal - just an outlier ! Thank you so much for the valuable insight that has given me such revelation and relief about how my mind and emotions work 💜

Excellent introduction
Format: Kindle
This is a well-written introduction for quickly learning how to use Ollama to run LLMs on your local machine. The book is light on theory but very good for facilitating hands-on experimentation. Only minimal Python experience is needed. Contrary to another reviewer's comment, the source code, which can be copied from the Kindle version of the text, is also readily available by emailing the author at the address provided. The final exercise in the book leads you through generating a RAG application to use Ollama to process your own documents without having to make them available to an external server.
