This is probably the first pictorial annual issued by the Straits Times after the Second World War. - The earliest issue we were able to locate in institutions is for 1948. 'This is a selection of some of the best work done by Straits Times staff photographers in 1947. Most of these photographs were taken by J. Jones and Lee Tuck Soon' (inside front cover). One plate shows the ablutions pool of the Sultan of Selangor' Mosque, others depict the diversity of urban and rural Malaysia, Singapore and Malacca.
