In a world increasingly threatened by ecological crises, 'Nature is a Battlefield' by Razmig Keucheyan illuminates the harsh realities of environmental injustice. This compelling book explores the intersection of capitalism and environmental degradation, revealing how 'environmental racism' disproportionately affects marginalized communities, particularly in the siting of toxic waste landfills. The author argues that the current ecological conversation often overlooks these systemic inequalities, focusing instead on abstract solutions. With 220 pages of eye-opening insights, this work critiques the 'environmental finance' movement, highlighting how financial instruments like carbon markets and pollution permits are profiting from the vulnerabilities created by climate change rather than offering sustainable solutions. Keucheyan's analysis extends into the military domain, investigating how nations are responding to resource scarcity and natural disasters through a 'green war' lens. From the devastation in New Orleans to the tensions in the Arctic, this book sheds light on the geopolitical dimensions of the climate crisis. Written in a clear and engaging style, 'Nature is a Battlefield' is essential reading for anyone interested in environmental studies, social justice, and the future of our planet. Description:
In the midst of the current ecological crisis, there is often lofty talk of the need for humanity to Âovercome its divisions™ and work together to tackle the big challenges of our time. But as this new book by Razmig Keucheyan shows, the real picture is very different. Just take the case of the siting of toxic waste landfills in the United States: if you want to know where waste is most likely to be dumped, ask yourself where Blacks, Hispanics, Native Americans and other racial minorities live and where the poorest neighbourhoods are. This kind of Âenvironmental racism™ is by no means restricted to the United States: it is very much a global phenomenon.
Keucheyan show how the capitalist response to the crisis has been marked by a massive expansion in Âenvironmental finance™. From Âcarbon markets™ to Âpollution permits™, Âclimate derivatives™ and Âcatastrophe bonds™, we are seeing a proliferation of nature-related financial products. Instead of tackling the root of the problem, the neoliberal strategy seeks to profit from environmental risks.
Moreover, with the rise in natural disasters, resource scarcity, food crises, the destabilization of the poles and oceans and the prospect of tens of millions of Âclimate refugees™, Western powers are increasingly adopting a military response to ecological problems. The Cold War is over: welcome to the Âgreen wars™. From New Orleans to the Siachen glacier via the Arctic floes, Keucheyan explores the landmark sites of this new Âclimate geostrategy™.

Great smell for the summer
Scent: Aquatic
Smells like a variety of citrus and a bit of the classic shower gel, really great scent for the summer and pairs well with colognes of citrus or fresh notes. Doesn't dry out skin and you'll still smell it for a good while on you after a couple of hours for me the scent last maybe 5-6 hours.

Nice refreshing seasonal body wash
Scent: Aquatic
Good fragrance body wash. I really do like cremos limited seasonal fragrances. This one is light and refreshing. Wish it would last a bit longer but overall does lather well and smells great while showering. A little goes a long way so I do appreciate that this bottle should last long. The viscosity of the liquid is easy to pour and suds up nicely with a loofah. Overall good value and would recommend.

I bought this for our son while he stays and visits our home, well he liked this so much he took it home. lol I guess he liked this more then the other scent of him s chemo at his house.
He did say he liked the smell and it’s a good size bottle. Said he don’t have to put a lot of cologne on because this smells so good and he feels really clean.
