The Keeley Electronics Muse Driver Andy Timmons Full Range Overdrive is a pedal workstation that transitions from a pristine clean boost to a treble supercharger, a tube-amp inspired chime to a square-wave germanium fuzz generator, and beyond. Andy Timmons iconic guitar tone has led to pedal collaborations in the form of a JHS Signature drive, a Keeley Halo Dual Echo, and now a versatile overdrive also offered by Keeley.
Built with the guidance of Robert Keeley and Andy himself, this pedal combines a three-control Blues Driver-style circuit with innovative Drive and Tone voicing switches, delivering an expansive spectrum of driven tones to choose from. The Drive toggle unleashes the power of two germanium diodes, offering a smooth, slightly compressed drive.
Two tone control circuits, found in the Andy Timmons Tone Switch, provide distinct voicings. In the AT Position, Andy's preferred voicing delivers clear, articulate notes in each chord, and a switch to the RK Position delivers a legendary Phat Boost, emphasizing low-end frequencies—ideal for vintage or single-coil pickups.
The Muse Driver's Full Range Overdrive circuit blends JFET saturation, diode clipping, and op-amp clipping, resulting in a harmonically rich tone. A Drive Switch allows "AT Clipping", featuring asymmetrical LED diode clipping for Andy’s Super AT Mod sound. Alternatively, Robert's RK Clipping activates two germanium diodes for a vintage fuzz pedal feel with a softer, smoother touch.
The Muse Driver features an industry-leading buffered bypass, utilizing a cutting-edge buffer that enhances rig sound while allowing silent switching, without tone loss. Designed, engineered, and meticulously manufactured in Oklahoma City, the Keeley Electronics/Andy Timmons Muse Driver is a shining example of Keeley's devotion to creating unique and functional gear.
