The mounting device enables the vibration damper to be held in the correct installation position and the timing chain sprocket to be pressed against and fixed to the crankshaft when removing and installing the vibration damper and when changing the timing chain. The timing chain sprocket on the crankshaft is held solely by the contact pressure of the central screw. Therefore, this must be fixed to the crankshaft before unscrewing the central screw to prevent the timing from turning.
