Tasting Notes

Appearance

Lustau Solera Reserva Fino Jarana Sherry presents a pale straw colour with greenish reflections of exceptional brightness and clarity, displaying the outstanding quality characteristic of a Jerez style Fino aged under a veil of yeast known as flor in Bodega Las Cruces in Jerez de la Frontera. A Sherry of rare visual elegance and enduring Lustau Solera Reserva distinction — bright, clean and immediately inviting in the glass.

Aroma

The nose is fresh and pungent with almonds and bakery notes of exceptional character and genuine Jerez Fino distinction — a bouquet of outstanding aromatic freshness, purity and authentic Lustau Fino Jarana character. The inland climate of Jerez de la Frontera provides a more rounded and fuller style, with the flor ageing evident in every aspect of the aromatic profile — precise, expressive and deeply inviting.

Palate

Dry and crisp on the palate, yet rich and with a full finish of exceptional length and enduring Jerez distinction — a Lustau Solera Reserva Fino Jarana Sherry of outstanding balance, freshness and genuine Palomino character. Aged in American oak casks in the traditional Soleras y Criaderas system in Jerez de la Frontera, where the location of the bodegas in the centre of the town provides perfect conditions for the ageing of the finest Finos in the Sherry area. Serve chilled between 7–9°C.

Pairs With

This exceptional Lustau Solera Reserva Fino Jarana Sherry is a natural companion to fresh seafood, smoked salmon, fish, ibérico ham, Manchego cheese or enjoyed chilled on its own as a perfect dry aperitif of outstanding Jerez freshness, almond character and enduring Lustau Fino distinction.

Incredibly well researched
Format: Paperback
Purchased in light of the current election fraud/security debates. I learned nothing so far is new. Data intensive. Can be dry at times, though many of the quotes from historical figures are revealing as to prevailing attitudes.

Excellent and thorough
This must be the definitive history of voting in America. I hold back from giving it five stars because it was a little more than what I was looking for, but this is as thorough as I have ever come across. Also, I love charts and graphs, and he has a great array of tables at the end. Interesting tidbit was the role war played throughout American history in expanding the right to vote. Also, though we all know how the right to vote gradually expanded, but what many of us didn't realize was how the right to vote actually shrunk at various points in American history. That is, some people who had the right to vote had it taken away at various moments in American history. When all is said and done, this is a great book.

read!
Format: Kindle
I had to read this book for a political theory class, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Keysarr did a great job of researching and writing it. It was not as dry as some of the other, similar books I've read. I would definitely recommend this one, even if it's not for a class.
