This armour suite consists of an armoured cab with high visibility as well as protection for engine, fuel & oil tanks and hydraulic and electrical systems.The D9R has a good level of protection and could even protect against an RPG attack after being fitted with slat armour. Light weapons like machine guns can be mounted on the top of the cab for self-defense. It has been proved to be an efficient and durable combat support platform.
