Interested in American history, well then this is a good find. This Vintage Whitehead Hoag Co Newark NJ Lapel Pin (S w/Pen) - Blue is a whimsical pin in a slightly challenged condition from a spill that happened. The Whitehead & Hoag Co. was the first button manufacturer and remained the foremost throughout the early years of the industry. It was soon to become the country's largest business in the manufacture of advertising novelties. The pin was part of a collection a gentleman had along with many other WWI, WWII and Vintage Los Angeles pins (most from WWI and WWII era). I couldn't find anything on this particular pin after all my research. Great addition to any anybody's collection.
Features of the Pin:
- Condition: Good - Needs to be cleaned to see the nice detail this pin has but had something spilled on it and the condition shows it
- Size:1/2" x .75"
- Front: What appears to be a Copper colored S or an 8 with a white enamel pencil going through it, it has a nice blue enamel inside the S or 8
- Back: Has the Maker Mark "Whitehead Hoag Co Newark NJ
- Copper colored metal
- Pin works great
