Saffron Sour - 0.5oz Apologue Saffron, 1.5oz spirit of choice, 0.5oz Lime Juice, 0.25oz Simple Syrup, 1 Egg White Combine all ingredients in a shaker and “dry shake.” Add ice. Shake vigorously. Strain. Saffron Sidecar - 0.5oz Apologue Saffron, 1.5oz cognac/brandy, 0.5oz Lemon Juice, 0.25oz Simple Syrup Build in shaker. Add ice. Shake. Strain. Saffron “Gold Fashioned” - 0.5oz Apologue Saffron, 1.5oz whiskey, 0.25oz Simple Syrup, 1 dash orange bitters Build in mixing glass. Stir. Strain.

SAFFRON is widely known as “the world’s most expensive spice.” We source our high-quality saffron from Rumi Spice, a fellow Benefit Corporation. Rumi was started by U.S. military veterans in Afghanistan to provide an alternative to opium production in the region and help empower Afghan women. Rumi cultivates saffron from Afghan farms, employing more than 1,900 women in Herat, Afghanistan to hand-harvest the delicate crimson stigmas of the flowers. Saffron brings a fragrant, exotic profile that has historically not been translated to spirit form.
