Both here are aptly titled: "Before the Night Descends" is an aching, yearning slice of nostalgia, with Herr K.'s voice strategically doubled up in parts, making for a hauntingly 3D experience; "Circle" is indeed circular, hypnotically winding around a plaintive, ever-fragile hook that refuses to relent, with Herr K. again making expert use of minimalist multi-tracking. Altogether, Prag 83's Énouement brandishes yet more mellow, sublime, and dark alternative folk - rugged to the bone and close to earth, now and forever. Musically unique with elements that reminds of the Katatonia's Discouraged ones era but also not far away from the works by the northern woodsmen of Lönndom, and even further into the dark past, the singular works of Nick Drake.
