Dana is an act of generosity that encourages selflessness and overcomes greed and desire. Although it commonly refers to the offering of a meal, dana can also be an offering of other basic necessities to a monk or a nun.

Kechara Forest Retreat is home to a community of local sangha who are well versed in both Asian culture and Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Apart from serving spiritual practitioners and visitors, their existence brings us a step closer to Rinpoche’s vision of establishing a monastic institution that is entirely Malaysian-grown.
