First edition. Signed by the author.

Patti Smith's memoir that details her relationship with Robert Mapplethorpe. The book describes Smith's childhood in South Jersey, her chance meeting with Mapplethorpe in Brooklyn, to their famous stay in Hotel Chelsea, where they cross paths with iconic artists of the time; Allen Ginsberg, Janis Joplin and William S. Borroughs, to name a few.

From the front flap: ‘Just Kids begins as a love story and ends as an elegy. It serves as a salute to New York City during the late sixties and seventies and to it’s rich and poor, it’s hustler’s and hellions. A true fable, it is a portrait of two young artists’ ascent, a prelude to fame.’

Fun Interactive Book
Format: Hardcover
This book is so fun to flip through. There's something interactive on every page. But the text isn't super engaging.

An Interesting New Work
Format: Paperback
I liked this work a great deal. It offered a great deal of intense story-driven moments and some great action scenes, and the art was pretty good (I won't say it was incredible, but it was very good). The story is intriguing, and after this first volume, a short arc has been fulfilled while leaving a lot of big questions unanswered in a fulfilling but still tantalizing way. I am perfectly satisfied with the serving size here and with the size of the book, and am happy to have added this to my shelf. Glad to have taken a chance on something new.

Mysterious masterpiece
Format: Paperback
Really compelling story. The USA seals itself off from the rest of the world. A group of people who are trying to stop a disease killing people on the outside are invited in to the former US to receive a cure… or were they? Great read. Snyder and Soule have created a mysterious masterpiece!!
