Sweet Gum Block SG-420 1.1" x 1.1" x 10.7"Sweet Gum Block SG 420 1. 1" x 1. 1" x 10. 7" 0. 25 lbs. This is a pretty spindle of Texas grown Sweet Gum. The colors are warm brown with peachy overtones. The grain is swirling and very attractive. There's a suggestion of quilting and chatoyance that I think will come out even more with turning and finishing. There's a suggestion of quilting and chatoyance that I think will come out even more with turning and finishing. This piece has been air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. Please scroll through the photos to see all of them, if you wish -- there are more than the 3 that first display on the page. This block has a crack or two in it that you will need to secure with CA glue or epoxy prior to turning. We've discounted the block because of the cracking. |
