About the guitar:
The Jackson® X Series models continue the metal legacy pioneered by the immortal Randy Rhoads. Regal and proud, the Jackson X Series Rhoads RRX24 offers fantastic tone, ultra-fast playability and unbelievable value for 21st century guitarists.

The RRX24 features a poplar body, through-body maple neck with graphite reinforcement and scarf joint, 12"-16" compound radius bound laurel fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and reverse Jackson pointed 6-in-line headstock.

Engineered for the modern metaller, a pair of active Seymour Duncan® Blackout pickups deliver searing tone that can be further shaped by two volume knobs, a single tone control and three-way blade switch. The RRX24 is also equipped with a recessed Floyd Rose® Special double-locking tremolo system for outstanding sustain and solid intonation.

Jackson® cases have been completely re-designed from scratch to provide the absolute ultimate in guitar protection. Each case is specifically formed and shaped to fit all of the unique Jackson® guitar shapes. Features include heavy-duty aluminum channeling, TSA® locking latches and super-quality ABS material.

Product came quick and I set it up the next day. I am only using the 5.1 set up at this time but the way the on screen set up walks you through everything it is a breeze. The AVR analyzes each speaker position individually to optimize the settings and provides the best balances possible. This receiver takes my old speakers to a new level of enjoyment without buying anything else (at this time). Watching a Football game it makes the sound come as though you are actually in the stadium. Love it! Still haven't tried all of the options for inputs yet, but I'm sure there will not be any disappointments. I would highly recommend Denon.

Sony STR-AN1000 Malfunctioning

I had the previous model which started Malfunctioning after about 10 years so I decided to replace it with this. I bought the 'renewed' new model. This started failing almost immediately. The logic constantly malfunctions; the input selection stopped working, the remote doesn't respond, it goes into mute. I'm unplugging it every few days to get the unit to thing to start functioning again. Initially I thought it was operator error but the errors started increasing with frequency. The malfunctions seemed similar to my old 8 year old model. I got less than 6 months of use out of this and now I have to replace it. Specs might be good on paper, the sound is decent for its class but I think that even my 10-year old 1050 should have lasted longer.
