Evolutionary: A simple design refresh would have been easy, but that's not what this is all about. The all-new XB Evo Hybrid headlights are a showcase of everything Morimoto is made of at a price that everybody can afford. Packed with features that demonstrate a true attention to detail including the latest in technology, compliance, quality, and styling, these headlights are designed for enthusiasts who are serious about all the above, even if it comes at a premium.

Maximum Performance: Thanks to an all-new generation of Morimoto Bi-LED projectors, the XB Evo Hybrid headlights will meet and exceed the highest standards for headlight performance that are set by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety... which is a tough mark even for most modern luxury automakers. Here, the 4Runner XB Evo Hybrid headlight utilizes the same Bi-LED projectors found in the higher end XB Evo model to deliver unmatched light output, with an incredibly bright and wide low beam, and a high beam that destroys darkness. All optics are powered by the latest OE-grade automotive LEDs from Nichia in Japan.

On Road: The Morimoto XB Evo Hybrid Headlights are DOT compliant with all FVMSS108 regulations for on-road use in the USA. Their projector optics are so capable and efficient that their LEDs are only driven at about 50% of their full potential intensity to avoid exceeding limitations set by compliance. The vertical aim is fully adjustable within +/- 6 degrees for a perfect alignment on any 4Runner, even with a lift. The system was designed in California by Morimoto's lead optical engineer, Yoshi Ishida, to deliver maximum visibility, comfort, and safety, and that it does.

Off Road: Yes, you read that correctly. Out of the box, XB Evo and Evo Hybrid are only producing a fraction of their potential intensity for compliance reasons. Want more light for your off-road adventures? The optional Supercharged LED drivers boost both low and high beam intensity by 30-50%, all without sacrificing reliability or warranty. It also adds the welcome-sequence to the DRL and projectors that doesn't normally appear on the Hybrid version of the headlight. While the Supercharged drivers easily enable the XB Evo to outshine every other headlight for the 4Runner on the market, we must reiterate that they will result in non-compliant levels of peak beam intensity, and therefore should not be used on public roads.

DRL Optics: The turn signals and daytime running lights illuminate glass-like TIR-optics with special surface textures, which enables maximum intensity from all viewing angles. Easily out-shining low-tech DRL optics found in most every other aftermarket headlight, they also provide a one-off look with the bespoke topographic pattern etched into the sidewall.

DRL and Turn Signals: The daytime running light illuminates in a crisp clear white color that perfectly matches the LED projectors. Thanks to their impressive optics, the amber turn signals are also incredibly bright and operate in a solid flashing pattern with an elegant fade-off effect. Sequential turn signals and Amber DRL settings are not available for the Hybrid version of the XB Evo headlights.

OE Fit and Installation: The XB Evo Hybrid headlights are expertly crafted to match all OE specifications to ensure perfect fitment and hassle-free install. They will bolt onto the original mounting points and line up to the surrounding sheet-metal without any massaging, and then plug into the factory wire harness and then work without errors on the dash, nor flickering, flashing, or radio interference. Thoughtfully engineered for a modification-free install. No factory warranties void. No headaches.

Well-Built: These headlights are completely designed, engineered and tested in the USA by the Morimoto team to meet the high expectations of our customers. Nichia LEDs from Japan are used throughout. All wiring and connections are OE-grade. When it comes to UV protection, OE Toyota headlights are industry-best, which is why we've formulated a new hard coating that exceeds their 3,000-hour standard for resistance against cracking, fading, and yellowing lenses from UV exposure. The list goes on but as the saying goes: you get what you pay for. XB Evo Hybrid headlights aren't cheap, but they are built to an OEM+ standard and should easily last the life of your 4Runner! We're proud to stand behind the product with an industry-leading five-year warranty.

Bland and generic.
Format: Paperback
Very bland and generic. The art was serviceable but I quickly forgot everything within a day. Nothing memorable at all. I expect more from the head Batman writer. This seemed lazy. Ending was but a whimper.

A Nice Standalone JL Story
Format: Paperback
Justice League: Last Ride really isn't bad, but it never shines greatness either. Superman is suffering throughout this story from the loss of a friend and ally, as well as fatigue from constantly saving people. This is the crux of so many modern Hero stories. Instead of Superman being a beacon of hope, he is dealing with personal and emotional problems. Of course we all need to do just that, however, we as readers look to comics to inspire us. Superhero stories are far less uplifting today, instead bringing characters like Superman down to a more average level. While the story has a positive ending, it comes after six issues of these characters working through their grief. In some aspects I can appreciate it, but I also don't want to stew in depression. I used to look to comics to find stories of heroes working through adversity, and relating their unrealistic situations to how I could overcome my own. Lately, the idea of metaphor seems to be dead. What I really enjoyed: Chip Zdarsky actually gave the characters individual voices. That's one up on many books being published today. It was nice to see a fairly classic Justice League lineup in action. Some of the more recent membership has been odd choices. The art from Miguel Mendonca was fantastic. I'd love to see more of his stuff. There are some great story beats and the 1st chapter is pretty compelling. What could have been better: The dad jokes sprinkled throughout the story were pretty cringey. I'm still trying to understand if Batman and Superman quipping about the pronunciation of S'Mores was supposed to be funny. The story never had a sense of dire consequences, though I'm not sure that's really a bad thing. I think a few small changes to the tone, such as Superman or Wonder Woman being more of a voice of confidence and reason would have helped. We need that beacon of hope in stories like this. Overall: Story: 6/10. A fun read, but a bit of a depressing tone. Art: 8/10. Fantastic character art. I think Miguel Mendonca will be a 9/10 artist in the coming years. Value: 7/10. Definitely worth a read and at a great price currently ($11.99 as of 10/24/22)

A Spectacle!!
Format: Kindle
Aaron packed a LOT of Story, Political Commentary and exposition into one issue. This is a testament to what good Science Fiction and good Comics have the ability to become.

A good start to a new Superman story
Format: Kindle
From this first issue, I like that Superman’s origin story is different from what we know. Although Kal’s parents are of the lower class, JorEl is still the one who seems to know about Krypton’s impending doom. It caught me off guard that Lois isn’t a reporter but part of this Lazarus Military. This kinda makes sense because she’s a military brat and her father is a General. This story is pretty cool so far. I don’t mind change as long as the story makes sense and the core of the characters are still intact. So far I have, I have no idea what to expect, but it’s getting good. Can’t wait for the next issue. Btw, Superman’s new suit looks dope!
