The color is an overall light brown with a nice, linear grain pattern. It was also cut from close to the pith and a small portion of that pith, including a shallow, pith parallel, open borer hole is present along one edge. That pith area and open borer hole will turn off completely as the block is roughed to round on the lathe. I see no other
