Mesquite Block M2012 3" x 3" x 3" 0.8 lbs. This is a cubic block of Texas-grown Mesquite. The color is the rich, reddish-brown of Mesquite heartwood. We have a number of similar blocks, so take a look through the photos to see this particular block. I take lots of photos, so scroll down in the photographs to see them all. The grain on these often have medullary rays, burl buds, small knots, and even some open cracks (depending on the block). Some of these also have a bit of sapwood and bark, with perhaps a wane edge where the block intersects a tree surface. This piece has been fully air-dried to 10-12% moisture content. If it has cracks, they can be artfully filled with CA glue. Contrasting colors look great with Mesquite. Pure black or coffee-ground epoxy look beautiful, too. These blocks are great for giant dice! About the Tree This Texas-grown Honey Mesquite tree was harvested in El Campo, Texas in July of 2022. It was cut down by the city for reasons unknown to us, and we were happy to help save the tree from a burn pile. It is possible that this tree was damaged by the Valentine's Day Freeze that Texas suffered in February 2021, which is when our state lost a lot of beautiful trees in an unusually deep and long freeze. |

A no-brainer
They taste good, arrived in great shape with no bruises, pricing can't be beat, and were just on the verge of being at peak condition which is just what you would hope for....not green anymore but good for several days. What's not to like? Prompt delivery. I don't know how they do it but they did. Five stars earned.

Received a perfect bunch!

I hadn’t ordered bananas for about a month due to what I’d received in the past.
Personal preference? I want those lovely pale green ends! Please!!! I don’t like the flavor or even the change in scent that happens when bananas turn darker yellow, freckle - or worse? Turn brown. Yuck.
Each previous delivery, I hadn’t been able to eat more than 3 out of each bunch because of the already yellowed fruit received. I even tried the currently trendy recommendation of wrapping the individual stem ends in plastic wrap to help slow the ripening process.
Was very pleased to receive a bunch of 6 small sized bananas, all delicately green and completely beautiful!
Beautiful job by the thoughtful delivery person as well, who didn’t just leave the bags in the rain on the (only 2!) steps, but made sure they were under the protection of the porch and not blocking my door.
Some items I never order anymore (beloved snap peas and garnet potatoes are two examples) after receiving spoiled items - more than once.
Apparently notifying Amazon of our understandable disappointment, not to mention the waste! can sometimes improve the quality of items delivered.
