This Martin Custom Shop 000 Auditorium 18 Style acoustic is a welcome addition from our friends at Martin Guitars. This 12-fret build draws inspiration from golden era Martin guitars and features tonewoods for its top, back, and sides that were specifically selected by Russo Music, a proud Martin Custom Expert dealer.

This Auditorium style guitar begins with a Bearclaw Sitka spruce top, which is characterized by its unique grain pattern, and paired to a sinker mahogany back and sides. The wood grain on this instrument's body is a huge part of what sets this instrument apart, visually. The mahogany on its back comes in two symmetrical, bookmatched halves that showcase the beauty of mahogany's grain on full display, contrasting the Bearclaw-style topwood, with grain that seems to follow no rules and is "swashed" in all directions. The guitar's simple approach to binding and its 18 Style appointments further allow the woodgrain to be a focal point of the guitar's aesthetic.

The neck of this guitar is built using select hardwood, and carved to a Modified Low Oval profile, and features a slight taper that Martin refers to as "High Performance". On the neck, a gorgeous ebony fingerboard that matches the guitar's bridge, features a broad 16" fingerboard radius, and is divided by 20 frets, twelve being accessible by hand before the neck joint. Between the frets, Old Style 18 abalone inlays pave the wav for fretting hand precision, and remind us of Martin's past. Quite distinctly, a slotted peghead sits atop the neck for a unique vintage-inspired appearance.

A handmade one of one Martin guitar, it comes loaded with classic USA Martin features such as an ebony bridge and fingerboard, Old Style 18 Abalone inlays, Grover Open Back 18:1 tuners, and Old Style 18 Boltaron rosette. With this guitar being no exception to Martin Custom Shop build quality and sonic excellence, it is most certainly an instrument with its best justice being given in person. Poorly Packaged
Scent: Almond Cocoa Butter
The soap is fine. The lotion seems thinner than what I have ordered in the past, but it will do. I've gotten the impression that Greenwich Trading is no longer making the Almond Cocoa version, so no doubt the stock is not new, which probably explains the viscosity. I was expecting that to be the case, so I'm not complaining about the lotion. The reason I'm writing this review is to ask the seller, JumpStart Goods, to make sure that Amazon packages the bundle of bottles in a box. The bottles were packaged together in a very thin (crisp and easily ripped) plastic bag. Then someone--the seller or Amazon--put the plastic-wrapped bundle in a thin Amazon pouch (one of those thin white and yellow envelope-like pouches) and expected it to endure the shipping process. Of course it didn't! When the envelope arrived, the bottles, which had broken out of the plastic bag, were rattling around inside the Amazon pouch, and the pump on the lotion bottle had broken. Fortunately, there was no leak, and I can put the lotion in an almost-empty bottle of the lotion that I already have--in other words, use it as a refill. I also need to mention that the package was held up several days in shipping. I assume that folks at UPS had noticed some issues with the package and had done their best to rectify the situation. Ironically, the same day that this envelope arrived, another Amazon order arrived in a secure box. That order was a tiny 1-inch paint brush. At least a hundred 1-inch paint brushes, or a bundle of soap and lotion, could have fit in that box!
