This artifact is a genuine exhaust mixer from a 727-200 Pratt & Whitney JT8D engine. The exhaust mixer in a turbofan engine is where cold bypass air is mixed with hot exhaust gases before being expelled through the propelling nozzle, creating a high-speed jet of air that propels the airplane. This piece, made from Inconel 625 alloy, has been cleaned, polished, and given a clear powder coat. It has been fitted with a 1/2" glass ring-shaped table top. Measures 48" in diameter x 22"H (overall)/17"H (table top). Weighs 140 lb (uncrated). *NOTE: This artifact is sold as is with no guarantee that parts maintain original function. Not for flight use.*
