With the Fender American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster, players are treated to the most accurate take on a true-to-spec vintage instrument with period correct bodies, neck, hardware, electronics, and finishes. Fine-tuned to offer the most authentic experience, these recreations are direct descendants to the originals – with most of the hardware being made on the same '50s and '60s era machines in the factory. For the first time ever, the American Vintage II 1961 Stratocaster is now available in Surf Green.

This Strat gets its iconic double-cutaway silhouette from a contoured alder body – offering a perfectly balanced platform for the Pure Vintage '61 Stratocaster single-coil pickups to shine. Speaking of which, these pickups have been specially constructed using the same materials as vintage examples including cloth-covered wired, fiber bobbins, and alnico magnets to deliver that signature Fender single-coil sound. The control set consists of the master volume, 2 tones controls, and a 5-way selector switch. The body is completed with a 3-ply mint green pickguard, nickel/chrome hardware, and aged white plastics.

Bolted to the body in a traditional 4-bolt fashion, you'll find a 1961 "C" shaped gloss maple neck. While neck profiles have been known to be inconsistent in vintage years, Fender selected the best period correct fit for this example, providing a comfortable and smooth playing experience. The neck is topped with a slab rosewood fingerboard and is crowned by 21 vintage tall frets and 10 clay dot position markers. Strings are loaded through the Pure Vintage Synchronized Tremolo bridge with bent steel saddles – providing excellent control over vibrato. Strings are then fitted in the slotted bone nut and are tuned to pitch at the headstock with the Pure Vintage Single Line "Fender Deluxe" tuning machines. The Stratocaster comes packed secularly in its vintage-style brown hardshell case with orange interior.
