It's fully air-dried, down to about 10-12% moisture content. The grain is long and mostly straight. It's got a few knots along its length, mostly small in size. There's one area of wane, about 9" long. There's one patch of bark at the other end of the spindle, and it's about an inch wide and 13" long. If you're turning this to round, both areas of concern will turn right off. I've taken LOTS of photos of this piece, so please scroll down if you'd like to look at the close-ups. It's hard to get the color right with my photographs, so please ignore the variations. The closest to true color are in the last 2 photos, where the wood looks yellow-orange. |

Comfortable but a bit shiny, does sting eyes

I really like the body and gel formulas in this line. This is a good addition, but not quite as good a fit for me.
It is very lightweight and easily to apply, and comfortable on the skin. It's fairly shiny but not in a greasy or wet-looking way, more glowy than dewy; I tend to prefer a soft matte finish for my oily skin, but this one is workable and would probably be great for dryer folks.
Unfortunately, it does move around a bit on the skin (according to my UV camera) and when it gets into my eyes it stings, which is very very common for chemical formulas from the US. I don't know if that will be an issue for people who aren't as sensitive as I am, but it's an important heads-up for those who are.

not worth it

i have gone through a ridiculous amount of sunscreens and this one stings my eyes! it doesn’t leave a residue but it’s also not very moisturizing, there’s also very little product in the bottle :(
