Madrone Log Md82 3.4" x 3.5" x 8" 3 lbs. This is a bark-on Madrona log spindle that is ready for you to turn or carve. This piece was harvested from a living Pacific Madrone tree growing on San Juan Island, Washington. We manage our Madrone sustainably and prune as needed for forest health. This piece was end-grain sealed immediately after harvesting. This is a GREEN to partially air-dried blank, meaning that it retains moisture from when it was a living tree. It has been well-sealed with Anchor Seal and is in the process of slowly drying. It was measured at >35% moisture content in December 2023.If you need a current moisture content, please message us so that we can check its status for you. It is common for fine cracks to open as these blanks dry, despite being sealed. If you do have a visible crack, fill it with CA glue or epoxy resin prior to turning. |
