Cooked up by the U.S. Army’s Natick Labs in the early 1970s, the pattern was part of a quiet effort to prep for combat in arid regions—long before the Middle East became America's favorite endless engagement.
The version you see here? It’s based on the original 1972 contract prototype, which never made it to mass production. With its weird, almost mint-chip palette of light green and tan, it was mothballed until retooled in the ’80s. Dan redrew the whole thing by hand from a vintage USAF flight jacket—preserving every anomaly, sun-bleached hue, and Cold War quirk.
And then we slapped it on a ridiculously soft, handmade hoodie.
