From stage to studio, Tonerider’s twin-coil design ensures the natural movement of the strings remains unimpeded, while the absence of metal plates in the magnetic circuit prevents the harsh, nasal character often associated with other hum-cancelling pickups. Made for Easy Installation

Tonerider’s low-profile design measures just over 0.8 inches (20mm) in height, ensuring straightforward installation in both vintage and modern pickup cavities without the need for routing.

Designed for Maximum Compatibility

Apex Classics are wound to match the polarity commonly found in most humbuckers and P90s, making them easy to pair with pickups from all major manufacturers. Each pickup is equipped with three wires — green (ground, connected to all metal parts), black (coil start), and white/yellow (coil finish). If a phase issue arises when combining with another brand’s pickup, the start and finish wires can simply be swapped to achieve an in-phase sound.

Screws and Springs Included for All Pickguard Styles

Each Apex Classic comes with Imperial 6/32 screws for hassle-free installation. Tonerider supplies both panhead and countersunk screw sets, covering every pickguard style.

Standard Strat Covers

For the first time in a noiseless design, Apex Classics use standard Stratocaster-sized covers rather than custom tall housings. This means the full Tonerider range of nylon covers, as well as aftermarket options from Fender and others, can be fitted with ease. On many vintage or older guitars, players can even reuse the original covers to maintain an authentic aged look. Each set is supplied with Tonerider’s premium deep pearl white nylon covers as standard.
