THOMPSON, F.; Julie NEILD [Illus.] Lark Rise to Candleford. London: Oxford University Press, 1945.

8vo., red publisher's cloth lettered in gilt to the backstrip; housed in the original unclipped dustwrapper (15s. Net) illustrat4ed by Julie Neild; [vii], viii-xv, [viii], 4-556; with vignette to title, 24 chapter headings and three tailpieces, all wood engraved by Neild; a very good copy, upper hinge cracked (now expertly repaired); previous ownership name in ink to ffep, along with a contemporary inscription (in two hands); a few light spots to the outer edge, and browning to the prelims; a very good copy, in the genuinely rare dust jacket which is spotted, browned and dirtied, with a couple of small ink stains; darkened along te spine with chips and some portions of loss to head; still very good, and seldom found at all.

First edition of the trilogy together~b~, and first with Neild's charming wood engravings. The first edition had appeared in three volume separately as Lark Rise in 1939, Over to Candleford in 1941 and Candleford Green in 1943.

Lark Rise to Candleford is a trilogy of semi-autobiographical novels set in the countryside of north-east Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, England, at the end of the 19th century. A BBC adaptation of the novels starring Julia Sawalha, Brendan Coyle and Dawn French, ran on BBC One from 13 January 2008 to 13 February 2011.

First issues of this edition are genuinely rare in their first issue form, with no recorded copies at auction in the last 30 years in both original binding and dust jacket.

Very solid option for comfort but the pattern of the shirt I received was off-putting
Size: Small, Color: Grey White Stripe
The shirt itself is great, sizing is spot on with an athletic tapered fit which I always prefer in a polo. The material is classic maelreg cotton feeling without the heaviness and water holding of typical cotton shirts. You can run in these polos, workout, go out to lunch or dinner, or simply sleep in these they are so comfortable. It's the patterns offered that made me return this and another I tried out. Colors are spot on with descriptions but the patters are small enough to play tricks on eyes, I received complaints from both my wife and daughter (separately) about the pattern hurting their eyes hence the 4 star instead of 5. Others may love the patter but know that it isn't as universally pleasing as more other shirts offered by this brand

Looks decent, doesn’t cook me in summer
Size: Medium, Color: Grey White Stripe
Bought this mainly as another golf shirt and wasn’t expecting much. Material is lightweight and comfortable enough during warmer days. Fit was pretty close to expected sizing. Sometimes inexpensive golf shirts end up feeling stiff or cheap after washing. This one has held up fine so far. Good everyday option.

Most Comfortable Hoodie I’ve Ever Worn…
Color: White Light Blue Grid, Size: Medium, Color: White Light Blue Grid, Size: Medium
Arguably, this is one of the most comfortable hoodies I’ve ever worn—and that’s saying something. The fit, feel, and overall look just come together in a way that makes this an easy go-to. I’ve become a big fan of M MAELREG, and this hoodie continues that trend. Their focus on clean, sharp styling really shows here. It has a modern, athletic look without trying too hard, and it works just as well for casual wear as it does for something a bit more put together. My wife immediately noticed it—and that’s always a good sign. The standout feature is the fabric. It’s lightweight but not flimsy, with just the right amount of structure. The stretch is excellent, and it moves naturally without feeling restrictive. It also does a great job managing heat, which is a big deal here in Arizona. Whether I’m out running errands, heading to a showing, or just wearing it around the house, it stays comfortable and breathable. Another thing I appreciate is how versatile it is. This isn’t just a “gym hoodie” or something you only wear lounging—it genuinely fits in almost anywhere. It has that polished, performance look that makes it easy to dress up or down depending on the situation. At roughly $40, this feels like a strong value. You’re getting a well-designed, comfortable piece that looks good and performs even better. Final thoughts…. ✔️ Extremely comfortable with a lightweight, performance feel.
✔️ Clean, modern design that looks sharp in multiple settings.
✔️ Breathable and well-suited for warmer climates like Arizona.
✔️ Great stretch and mobility without feeling too thin.
✔️ Strong value for the price point.
⭐️1 star — I don't endorse this at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars — I don't endorse it: has multiple faults, or significantly overpriced. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars — It's passable: it has some faults, some compromises, but the quality is acceptable for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars — Product quite acceptable, and it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars — Product that I totally endorse. Blown away. Drop everything and buy it!
