22ct Antique Indian Woven Chain
This luscious 22k antique Indian chain with two-hook clasp is a special release from Deb's personal collection, purchased in the early oughts in New York's Lower East Side and worn with love ever since. This particular antique woven link is hard to find and wonderfully constructed by hand to be both very strong and comfortably lightweight against the skin.
One of the traditional granulated shephard's hooks is original to the piece, and the other was recently made to match the first through a combination of 3-d printing and hand finishing by a master jeweler in Los Angeles. When the original end cap that finished one side of the chain and its original simple loop enclosure was showing wear, we took it as an invitation to honor the continuing story of the piece by giving it a second hook that would increase its versatility while maintaining its history. The two hooks work wonderfully on either side of a brooch, or when connected to another chain for a more elaborate neck stack. Also stunning worn alone, this is a piece worthy of handing down to your children, and strong enough to wear daily.
Please note that there is a small directional change in the weave that takes place about an inch away from one end of the chain. This is part of its story and has been present since before it was in our founder's collection. We have had it checked by multiple jewelers, and all have said it does not compromise the structure of the chain or its strength, and yay for that. It straightens when worn with a pendant, brooch, or another chain, and is only slightly visible when worn alone.
