Filtri FX di diffusione nera
I filtri Tiffen Black Diffusion/FX sono filtri soft focus. Sono realizzati con un motivo nero irregolare che ammorbidisce i dettagli più piccoli, come rughe e macchie della pelle, lasciando nitidi i dettagli più grandi, come gli occhi. La maggior parte dei filtri Tiffen Black Diffusion/FX è disponibile solo nei gradi da 3 a 5, con il grado 5 che ha l'effetto maggiore. Questo filtro è più efficace se utilizzato per i ritratti.

I filtri di diffusione Tiffen FX sono disponibili anche nella tonalità "calda".

Filtri Pro Nebbia neri
I filtri Pro-Mist, parte della serie Hollywood / FX di Tiffen, producono generalmente bagliori di luci che appaiono più come un "alone" rispetto al bagliore che si estende più esternamente a un filtro per nebbia. Mantenendo il bagliore più vicino al soggetto, creano un bagliore quasi perlescente alle alte luci. Disponibili in vari gradi di intensità di diffusione (con Grado 5 che ha l'effetto più forte), i gradi inferiori del filtro trovano anche uso nel ridurre l'eccessiva nitidezza e contrasto delle moderne combinazioni di pellicola e lente senza sminuire l'immagine. La serie di filtri Black Pro-Mist crea anche un moderato rammollimento dell'immagine e bagliori di luce intensi da modesti a forti, ma senza altrettanto effetto schiarente nelle aree d'ombra.

Entrambi i filtri sono disponibili anche nella serie "Warm", che combina l'effetto Pro Mist con l'esclusivo filtro riscaldante 812 di Tiffen.

Filtri Soft FX
I filtri Soft/FX di Tiffen sono filtri soft focus. Hanno un pattern di minuscole lenti che mettono fuori fuoco i dettagli più piccoli, come rughe e macchie della pelle, lasciando nitidi i dettagli più grandi, come gli occhi. I filtri Soft/FX sono disponibili nella maggior parte delle dimensioni in gradi da mezzo a cinque, con il grado 5 che ha il maggiore effetto di ammorbidimento. Questo filtro è più efficace se utilizzato per ritratti soft focus.

Not like egg-crate foam, but these look nice and help with noise
Everyone is putting these on the walls. I opted for the ceiling. Back in the middle of the pandemic, I converted a corner of a back-room/work-room into a home office space for my work-from home activities. It's a basement, and so it's concrete walls, but I did my best to put things on or in front of the concrete to dampen sound. But I didn't spend any time thinking about the open-rafter ceiling, which is really just the main-level floor. That's where these (and a couple other) sound-reducing tiles came in. I tacked some packs of these overhead, and immediately noticed a fair reduction in noise in my "office," as well as noise from upstairs. But they also had the effect of reducing my ceiling height, making it easier to warm the space when it's cold. And they look good doing it, providing a pretty nice ceiling. These tiles are not very thick, not like true acoustic wall materials. So you're not going to get the sound dampening of egg-crate foam. But they do offer some degree of reduction in ambient noises. And they don't cost a lot. Overall, I'm pleased and think I need to order more for some other areas of the room.

Noticeable Echo Reduction in My Shop
I installed these panels in a shop where sound tends to bounce around quite a bit. The panels were easy to cut to fit the wall and lightweight enough to mount with double-sided tape. The material feels dense and well-made, and I immediately noticed a difference in echo reduction. These helped dampen ambient noise without changing the look of the room too much. They don’t block out sound completely, but they definitely make a noticeable improvement in room acoustics.
