Musically, it flies higher than with the aforementioned birds: one thinks of the beautiful experimental England of the 70s, of no wave à la James Chance and even of kraut à la CAN period Damo Suzuki. Behind The Pigeons, we find Phil MFU, the legendary experimentalist made in UK already spotted previously with the Vanishing Twin, but also Tommy, in charge of the drums, similar to those of Clyde Stubblefield, the metronomic American who led the groove of James Brown's beat machine. And while one might have thought that this story of pigeons was a marketing gimmick intended to attract passers-by, "Bird Brain Gang" proves in 11 tracks that there will be enough seeds for everyone. Melodic, radical and strange at the same time, this album proves that, apart from the musicians, nobody will be taken for a pigeon.
