CJX2-1210 3 Pole Contactor 25 Amp 220 VAC Coil

Key Features

  • High-Conductivity Silver Alloy Contacts: Engineered with premium silver-cadmium oxide contact points that provide superior electrical conductivity and arc resistance, ensuring a long service life even under high-frequency switching.
  • Flame-Retardant Industrial Housing: Encased in a high-strength, heat-stabilized thermoset plastic that resists tracking and melting, providing a safe electrical barrier for high-voltage industrial and HVAC applications.
  • Precision 220V Electromagnetic Coil: Features a high-quality copper-wound induction coil designed for stable pull-in and release voltages, reducing the "chatter" and humming often found in lower-quality contactors.
  • Integrated 1NO Auxiliary Contact: Equipped with one built-in "Normally Open" (10) auxiliary terminal, allowing for the easy integration of indicator lights, interlocking circuits, or feedback signals to a control board.
  • Universal DIN Rail & Screw Mounting: Designed for maximum installation flexibility, featuring a standard 35mm DIN rail snap-fit base as well as traditional screw-hole mounting for panel-backplate installation.

Compatibility & Fitment

This 3-pole contactor is a universal heavy-duty switch used for controlling motors, heating elements, and lighting loads. Common applications include:

  • HVAC Systems: Acts as the primary power switch for air conditioner compressors and heat pump outdoor units.
  • Industrial Motor Control: Suitable for three-phase motors up to 5.5kW (at 380/400V) or single-phase motors in pumps, fans, and conveyors.
  • Heating Equipment: Used to switch high-amperage resistive heating elements in industrial ovens and water heaters.
  • Lighting Arrays: Capable of managing large banks of commercial high-intensity discharge (HID) or LED lighting.
  • Note: Ensure your control circuit provides 220V/230V AC to the coil (Terminals A1 and A2). This unit will not operate on 24V or 120V control circuits.

When to Replace

  • Loud Buzzing or Humming: Indicates debris inside the magnetic core or a failing shaded pole, which can lead to overheating and coil burnout.
  • "Chattering" Contacts: The contactor opens and closes rapidly when energized, often caused by a weakened internal spring or a failing electromagnetic coil.
  • Visible Carbon Buildup: "Pitting" or black charring on the contact points suggests the silver coating has worn away, causing high resistance and potential fire hazards.
  • Burnt Smell: An acrid, metallic odor coming from the contactor usually indicates the internal coil has melted or the plastic housing is overheating.
  • Circuit Won't Close: The coil receives power (A1/A2), but the plunger does not pull in, indicating a break in the coil winding.

Installation Tips

  • Safety First: You MUST disconnect the main power supply. Contactors manage high-voltage and high-current circuits that can cause severe injury or equipment damage.
  • Coil Wiring (A1/A2): Connect your 220V control wires to the A1 and A2 terminals. It does not matter which wire goes to which A-terminal as it is a non-polarized AC coil.
  • Line vs. Load: Connect your incoming power to the top terminals (L1, L2, L3) and your motor or device wires to the bottom terminals (T1, T2, T3).
  • Check Terminal Torque: Ensure all screw terminals are tightened firmly. Loose connections are the #1 cause of contactor failure and "arcing" heat damage.
  • Auxiliary Use: If your system uses a "Run" light or a status sensor, connect those low-current wires to the NO (13/14) terminals on the right side of the unit.

Functional. Be careful when tightening nuts...strips very easy
Quality is questionable. The poles will strip way to easy. So be careful when fighting down. I had to use a stack of washers on top of wire to keep the nut tight. As far as functionality goes ..been doing great for over a month.
