How to Die Cut 4-color Odette Block Blocks:

For best cutting results, position fabric on the lengthwise grain (straight of grain) as it goes under the roller. Tip: The die is specially designed to cut one complete 4-color 11" finished block in one pass through the cutter.

• Fabric Color 1: Cut one 4 5/8" square and place right side up over shape A. Cut 1 shape.
• Fabric Color 2: Cut a 3 7/8" strip across the width of fabric (WOF) and fan fold over shape B. Cut 4 shapes. Cut a 3 7/8" strip across the WOF and fan fold over shape C. Cut 4 shapes. Cut a 3 3/4" strip across the WOF and fan fold over shape G. Cut 4 shapes.
• Fabric Color 3: Cut a 2 1/2" strip across the WOF and fan fold over shape D. Cut 4 shapes. Cut a 2 1/8" strip across the WOF and fanfold over shape E. Cut 4 shapes. Cut a 2 5/8" strip across the WOF and fan fold over shape F with two layers right side up and two layers right side down. Cut 8 shapes.
• Fabric Color 4: Cut a 3 3/4" strip across the WOF and fan fold over shape G. Cut 8 shapes. Cut a 2 1/2" strip across the WOF and fan fold over shape D. Cut 8 shapes.

Die Tips: 

• With some fabrics, after cutting, a thread or two will remain where die blades meet. Snip threads with scissors. 
• Blades on some dies are positioned at an angle.  Align fabric to edge of shape, not edge of die board. 
• Use good quality fabric to reduce fabric stretch. 
• It's always a good idea to test cut one shape before cutting many shapes to ensure fabric orientation is correct.
