Wings of Glory: (Weber) Albatros D.VaThe Albatros D. V was a fighter aircraft used by the Luftstreitkrafte (Imperial German Air Service) during World War I. The D. V was the final development of the Albatros D. I family, and the last Albatros fighter to see operational service. Valorous member of Jagdstaffel 3 and Kest 4b, the fighter pilot Ludwig Weber flew the Albatros D. Va in 1917. After the war, he was pilot and engineer for Junkers and a personal pilot of the Ethiopian emperor.
