Cola, root beer, lemon-lime? No thanks, we're going to have this Music Man StringRay Special in Sode Pink Sparkle instead. First introduced in '76, the StingRay has been around for a while, providing bassists with a fresh tool to express themselves. For 2026, the StringRay has returned with modernized features that'll make anyone interested in the low end stoked to play.

The double-cutaway bass gets its signature offset shape from a select hardwood body with newly refined body contours. These contours are rounded for a comfortable playing position either seated or standing. Completing the body, a vintage white pearloid pickguard houses a single humbucking pickup with Neodymium magnets. This pickup is active! An onboard 18-volt 3-band preamp provides plenty of juiced up power for a wide range of punchy sounds. From pop punk to jazz, they sound good.

For its neck, a roasted maple neck with a sculpted neck joint is secured to the body by 5 bolts. Access to the upper register paired with its smooth "C" shape neck profile makes for an easy-going playing experience. The maple fretboard is crowned with 22 wide stainless steel frets and is accented with black dot inlay fret markers.

High quality lightweight chrome hardware keep the Soda Pink Sparkle wonder playing its best. Strings are loaded through the vintage Music Man top loaded bridge and rest in the compensated nut slots before being strung to pitch with open gear tuning machines.

Lightweight and modern, but with vintage-inspired charm at heart, the StringRay Special has earned its place in the world of bass.

Lynda Barry is Awesome
Format: Kindle
This book is fantastic if you want to make comics by yourself or with a classroom. Barry packs in loads of experience teaching and making art. Her style of drawing is simple and straight forward. She uses a great method that empowers the reader to make art and share it. I want to be half the teacher Barry is.

This! Book! Rocks!
Format: Paperback
If you enjoy laughing, having fun with your friends and family, and doing cool stuff, you will love Lynda Barry's Making Comics. This is a thoughtful and complete recap of her live class at the University of Wisconsin, includes much of her substantial thought and philosophy on the role of image making in human evolution, and is full of her (and her students') amazing artwork; but it's also full of excessively FUN drawing exercises that are wonderful for sucky drawers as well as professional artists. We dig this book so bad!!! Best gift I've given myself in a million years!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe I had a little bit forgotten how much I! Love! Lynda! Barry!!!!! So if you wish you could go move to Wisconsin and take her class like I do, instead just save the planet the extra greenhouse gases and get this book instead and do the class at your kitchen table with your friends!!! Maybe also order it from your local groovy independent bookstore so you can stick it to the man!!!
