What's in it?

It's a fully colonized sawdust block that will sprout mushrooms soon after arriving at your door. None of our blocks are treated with chemical pesticides, and they far exceed organic certification requirements. Each block will weigh approximately 5 pounds. We also have 5 and 10-pound fruiting blocks available for wholesale. At Fungi Farm, our products are 100% grown and produced by us, in our own facility, in the USA.

Directions

Our kits need only water, light, and fresh air to fruit. Your grow kit will arrive fully colonized. Simply cut the bag and mist with a spray bottle 2 or 3 times a day, keeping the surface of the blocks moist until mushrooms begin to grow.

After 7-10 days, depending on the species, the mushrooms will begin pinning. Keep the growing area between 65- 80 degrees Fahrenheit. After another few days to a week, you will be ready to harvest your first crop.

Can I purchase mushroom blocks at your shop?

We keep extra blocks around because we occasionally make extra. Block type and size will vary. If you would like to purchase a specific species of grow block then contact us directly to ask about availability.

How long will it take my mushroom block to ship?

Our mushroom blocks are usually made to order. It will take a minimum of 1-2 weeks for your order to ship. Please contact us directly if you have any questions about lead times.

How many times will my mushroom block flush?

We guarantee your mushroom block will fruit at least 1 time if you follow our directions. You are responsible for following the directions correctly. Your kit may produce mushrooms up to 5 times.

Which varieties do you recommend?

Blue oyster mushrooms are the easiest and fastest to fruit, but our lion's mane blocks also work great for beginners. Pink and yellow oyster mushrooms are best for warm or tropical climates. For the more advanced growers varieties like chestnut, king oysters, and black pearl oysters can also be grown at home. Please note, the advanced varieties require more environmental control than our standard mushroom block varieties.

What should I do with my mushroom kit when it will not fruit anymore?

Mushroom blocks will often fruit again if you place them outside. This will usually happen after it rains. It is sometimes helpful to bury the block under a layer of compost or mulch.
