Welcome to the Time of the Red, Choomba! The Megacorporations spent decades wrecking everything and in the aftermath of their last War, everyone has to fend for themselves. But thats just fine. You can handle it. After all, in a world of vicious boostergangs, rampaging cyborgs, corporate assassins, and nihilistic doomsday cults, theres only one rule: Always take it to the Edge. Take the big risks, get the big rewards. Be the action, start the rebellion, light the fire. Never drive slow when you can blaze a trail. Youve hooked your Militech pistol to the interface in your brain; upgraded your cybernetic fist with carbo-glas blades; and installed cybereyes that can pierce through the red haze like morning fog. Theres a world full of opportunities out there, just waiting for the right Edgerunner. Maybe thats you. Cyberpunk RED is the latest edition of the classic tabletop roleplaying game of the Dark Future and encompasses everything you need to explore the post-War world of the Time of the Red, including: - A dense, deep-dive into the history and geography of Night City and the greater Cyberpunk world, and plenty of the lore about the Time of the Red. - Ten unique Roles for you to play: charismatic Rockerboys, lethal Solos, quick-hacking Netrunners, inventive Techs, lifesaving (and taking) Medtechs, hard-hitting Medias, duty-bound Lawmen, scheming Execs, clever Fixers, and range-riding Nomads. - A huge collection of useful tools, powerful weapons, protective armor, and gleaming cyberware to help you rule the Street. - Three Screamsheet adventures to show you what Cyberpunk is all about. - Pregenerated opponents perfect for populating the Combat Zones and Corporate compounds, plus encounters that use them to bring the City to life.

funny!
Format: Hardcover
See the "candy wrapper rustler", the "hymn hummer" and all the others you remember )or still know, from church. See Homer's water-slide-to-the-baptismal-pool, and more. Fun to give as a gift.

for Simpson fans
Format: Hardcover
If you're a fan of the Simpsons' neighbor, this will certainly tickle your funnybone. Good old left-handed Ned tells and shows all, God bless him.

Anne Carson is a Genius
Format: Hardcover
There is no one writing right now -- in essays, novels, poems or short stories -- who is as consistently brilliant as Anne Carson. Her last book, AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF RED contained some of the finest, most exquisite writing I've ever read; and this next collection is a masterpiece. There is a long essay in the book titled IRONY IS NOT ENOUGH: My Life As Catherine Deneuve that is at once moving, sexy and intelligent. There are also a sequence of poems about Hoppers paintings, paired with St. Augustine's Confessions that show perfectly how Carson dances on the fault lines of the modern and the ancient. This woman will win a Nobel Prize.

Interesting juxtapositions - some successes, some failures
Format: Paperback
As is to be expected from Anne Carson, the breadth of her knowledge results in thought-provoking writing even when it fails as "poetry". An example Hopper:Confessions begins with a quotation from Edward Hopper, followed with 9 separately title poems accompanied by quotations from Augustine's Confessions, and ending with a piece by Hopper. Her essay on female pollution in antiquity is excellent scholarship made enjoyable reading for the "common reading". Several pieces, or portions of pieces, consider Lazarus raising interesting issues from the perspective of Lazarus ... what is his reaction at being called forth (rotting?) from the grave? While many of the pieces, especially the very short pieces, are not impressive, the book is worth your time - for the reflections it provokes in the reader.
