Chiming in for a legacy of awesome acoustic guitarcraft, the Gibson J-45 Century 12-Fret is a captivating departure for classic 1940s "Workhorses" with compelling, inspired bends from the time-tested Gibson tradition. Swinging in as part of the Gibson Century Collection of acoustics, the J-45 Century is an otherworldly timeline break that deviates from the history of Gibson's iconic round-shoulder dreadnought.

Way, way back in the early 1940s, Gibson kicked off their all-new J-45 round-shoulder dreadnought acoustic guitar. The now indispensable dreadnought shape served as the basis for lifetimes of American acoustic guitar music and dreadnought builds alike with a bold, full-bodied form and a 14-Fret neck assembly. Nicknamed "The Workhorse" due to its sonic character and versatility, the J-45 became a classic in the Gibson line and universally. Today's J-45 Century 12-Fret explores an alternate route of history with a variations on Gibson neck design and appointments for an overall reverent but alternative dreadnought.

The Gibson J-45 Century 12-Fret sets off familiarly to other Gibson J-45s. An iconic round-shoulder dreadnought body builds up from a classic combination of Sitka spruce and mahogany. Introducing authentically vintage acoustic tones into every performance, this Workhorse dreadnought body is then treated to a satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish with cream binding for a rich and smooth feel and aesthetic character.

Here, this J-45 truly breaks the mold with its neck. A mahogany neck enters in the picture at this point through compound dovetail neck joint assembly using vintage-accurate hot hide glue adhesive. The guitar's SlimTaper-profiled neck meets the body at the twelfth fret, in contrast to the usual historic fourteenth. This 12-Fret neck and board length inspire all-new creative directions to take for something to lose yourself in. A rosewood fingerboard joins up here with this neck lined with nineteen frets and Mother of Pearl Dot fret inlays.

This charming 12-Fret J-45 tops everything off with a great lineup of hardware specifications. First, the body is matched with a rectangular rosewood bridge landing at the base of the 24.75" scale with a bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins. The setup provides a solid connection and transfer of motion string-to-body. At the scale's opposite end, a bone nut lands toward the iconic Gibson headstock adorned with Golden Age Strap tuning machines and cream buttons. This Gibson Century acoustic features a few unique aesthetic appointments including a Gibson L-00-style pickguard as it travels with an included premium Gibson Century Collection tweed hardshell case.

Generations in the making, this J-45 Century 12-Fret is an alternative spin on an icon.

The dogs like it very much, it produces a lot of noise.
Size: Large, Size: Large
I’m rating this based on my dogs’ response to this toy – they absolutely love it, and it has seen more use without damage than any of their regular throwing toys. At the same time, unless you enjoy, REALLY ENJOY the sound of crunching water bottles, you may not like having this ball in the house. Pros: The rubber outer shell of the ball is durable, and can survive both chewing and pulling forces (as a note, my dogs do not concentrate on chewing - they use it more for play games). It’s big enough for my dogs to play tug of war with it, hooking their teeth in the mesh, and they since it bounces around if they drop or kick it, it makes the game more interesting than rope. They did crush the interior plastic, but they don't really seem to care. It’s much more engaging than a normal ball, and can be modified to hold treats, sticks, rope elements and other external bits, which my shepherd mix loves; he gets bored easily and frequently, and this can actually entertain him. Cons: This toy is loud, and produces repetitive crunching sounds. It is apparently really engaging to chew, and my dogs will produce the horrid plastic crackling up to half an hour at a time. If you let your dogs in and out, it would make a fine outdoor toy, but since I have a dog door, it migrates around to pretty much wherever the dogs are. I kind of hate it, but will probably buy another if they break this one since they enjoy it so much.

Very durable and my Heeler's fave inside toy
Size: Large
My red Heeler loves these balls, second only to Tennis balls but she destroys those within minutes and they are outside only. This is her inside ball. She is hard on toys and has the strongest bite of any dog I've had (shepherds, collies, weimaraners, retrievers, Labs) yet these continue to last. She catches the ball, we play tug of war with it (she places it in hand hand and pulls only when I have a firm grip, she shakes it and flings it. The rubber outside even outlasts the water-bottle like plastic piece inside. Steps holds the ball with her foot and pulls on the rubber with her mouth, stretching it to sometimes twice its size. I pull while shes pulling. This thing gets abused daily and keeps on going. Its the most used toy and she brings it to me to play with every day. Each ball lasts about 6 months before the inside ball is toast and the outer rubber is finally starting to tear/break. which for me in an incredibly long time. If this ball is available to play, she wants it over all others. Shes NEVER gotten a piece off to actually swallow and that alone is worth the price.

Great ball but easily broken
Size: Large
I got this ball for my two dogs, one is a 90 pound yellow lab mix and the other 45 pound black lab mix. So far only my bigger dog has played with it and has also busted it. He was playing with it for probably half an hour just chomping down to make it crinkle and crunch. It's quite the loud ball!! I noticed the sound wasn't as loud so I took a peek and noticed my dog basically crushed the inner ball into a much smaller ball. He's still having a good time with it though. It's only a matter of time though that he's going to chew the outer shell because it doesn't make noise like it did.
