THE MINISTRY Embrace Me! Adoption & Foster Care is a ministry of Water of Life Community Church in Fontana, California. Senior Pastor Dan Carroll has imbedded in the hearts of his congregation to have Passion for God and Compassion for People. The nexus of this story is all about passion and compassion.

THE STORY The Founders' Story begins with one childless woman's journey through infertility, adoption, foster care, a community project and a passion that transformed into a ministry. The Birth Story is how their pastor said YES to the ministry which ushered in the Ministry Launch that led to The Collaboration with surrounding churches, child welfare and government entities creating The Call of Embrace Me!

THE CALL The Call of Embrace Me! is to provide Information, Support & Services to those on the journey of foster care and adoption and to mobilize the church to embrace these families with wraparound resources. THE VISION Our vision is for every child to experience the healing power and unconditional love of Jesus Christ through a church-sponsored ministry to foster and adoptive families as they fulfill the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of children in their care.

THE PRAYER We pray that our story will inspire you - Become a Foster/Adoptive Parent - Become a Sponsor/Partner/Donor - Initiate a Ministry in Your Church Isabel Hunt is an adoptive, biological and former foster parent. Her journey to motherhood includes years of infertility, a kinship placement, an agency adoption, a miracle birth and a foster care experience. After their foster care experience, her teenage sons began a Community Project where they received a Community Hero Award. They took their mission to the church which paved the way for the inception of Embrace Me! Adoption & Foster Care creating a forum where "everyone can do something" and engaging business sponsors and empowering partners through their 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Isabel's passion and vision has led to the mobilization of a team of volunteers that advocate towards this great cause so that every child has a family, community and church who will embrace them. Author, speaker, advocate, wife to Jim Hunt and grandmother to Isaac- she is the Founder of Embrace Me! Adoption & Foster Care, together with her children.

Horrendous, Even for a Required Textbook
Format: Paperback
Normally reviews aren't necessary for school textbooks. They're required. You're buying this whether you want to or not. However, I feel I need to take a moment and record how awful this book is. It's sexist, unhelpful, and is written as if the authors are talking down to a reader. You can't even complete the exercises after reading the chapters, and the book provides no answers if you were to try. I learned nothing from this text, except that women are smart and healthy and men are sick and stupid. These are stereotypes texts can easily avoid. Instead, this text sought out those stereotypes, going out of its way to reinforce them. Textbooks should put readers to sleep at worst, not actively insult them. And to be clear, this isn't about the fact that women live longer. This complaint concerns that every single example in the text that concerns a sickly individual uses a male pronoun, and every example in the text that concerns a healthy individual uses a female pronoun. The sexism grows from there. Textbooks have to try to be this poor. In that regard, and that regard alone, this one succeeded. If you're about to take a class that requires this textbook, reconsider your life trajectory. Something is going wrong. Also, and this is petty, but the comics made for this textbook are probably the worst I've ever seen. The art is so poor it's not even funny. My dog could do better.
